The Home of Love Centre – Talek is one of the most transformative projects under Mizpah Foundation Kenya, created to rescue and empower young girls affected by harmful cultural practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriage. Deep in the heart of the Maasai Mara, where traditional customs often silence the dreams of girls, Mizpah Foundation built a sanctuary of safety, education, and hope. The centre provides a secure home for rescued girls, offering not only shelter but the love, care, and mentorship they need to rebuild their lives.
Every girl who arrives at the Home of Love Talek begins a new journey toward healing and empowerment. Mizpah Foundation ensures each child has access to free, quality education through the Mizpah Ambassador School, as well as medical care at the House of Hope Medical Centre within the Mizpah Mara Mission compound. In addition to education, the centre offers counseling and spiritual support, helping survivors overcome trauma and rediscover their sense of purpose and self-worth. The focus is on nurturing strong, confident young women who will one day become community leaders and advocates for change.
The work done at this centre extends far beyond its walls. Mizpah Foundation Kenya collaborates with local authorities, parents, and cultural leaders to create awareness about children’s rights, the dangers of FGM, and the importance of education for girls. This community-based approach ensures that real change happens not just for individuals, but across generations. As a result, the Talek region has seen a significant reduction in early marriages and an increase in school enrollment among girls — a clear sign that hope is winning.
Mizpah Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to all partners, sponsors, and supporters who continue to make the Home of Love Centre – Talek a success. Your generosity has given dozens of girls the chance to dream again and reclaim their futures. With continued support, Mizpah aims to expand this life-changing model to reach more communities across Kenya — so that every girl can grow in safety, dignity, and freedom.
